OK, so this is not a jazz project, but it does involve one of my favorite bands. For one song from their new album, Radiohead has offered up the original audio files for public remixing. A band that I co-lead, named Fourfourteen, has just finished a remix of this new Radiohead tune “Nude.” You can listen to it and vote for it on Unity Waves by clicking HERE
After months of work, I've finally got my music site up and running! This site will primarily highlight any jazz projects that i'm involved in, although I will try to link to other musical projects in other genres here as well. It was a daunting task for someone just starting out, but a great experience in getting my feet wet in web design/ development. This is my first site, so there is still a ton to learn, and it should be fun going forward....... Special thanks to Torry Courte at Shockstream and Steve Mynett at Mynett Works for their generous time and helping to point me in good directions to begin learning about web development. Also, a huge thanks to Ian Moar of Moar Photography for many of the amazing photos on this site (including the one to the left on this page). There are no gigs or performances to list right now, as I have been forced to temporarily stop playing saxophone to address some ear problems that have been ongoing since the summer of 2007. Without going into all of the details, I should be back playing for the Vancouver International Jazz Festival this June. I'll be listing those jazz fest gigs here soon.
I've had some pretty funny quotes directed my way regarding my current ear situation. Here are some good ones...... “Can you play the cannon part in my arrangement of the 1812 overture for the West Coast Alphorn Orchestra?” -Tommy Babin “I've been working on this piece we can all play with Jon. Check it out. You'll have to zoom in - it's a big score” -Adam Thomas “When you get a chance, I really need someone to tune my foghorn” -Brad Turner |
